Google maps problems

Although I now have a working application that displays Google Maps, it still does not fulfil the needs of my application. In my application users will need to be able to zoom in and out but at the moment that is not possible. So in my attempt to change it I have made it worse, see below:

The application is picking up my GPS details but it is no longer displaying my current position.
