I have been discussing the design of my website with Tom ?, trying to establish the concerns that the staff have with its design and basically they think that it is too grey. As any good designer should, I have tried to implement a good thematic design which is appropriate to the content of my site. My favourite part of the site is the black and white background images but this seems to be the main part that the staff have issue with due to the colouring. They believe I should use sepia coloured background images as this would give a warmer colour tone, I agree that this would give a warmer feel to my site but I have a big problem with this. During the relevant time period that my application is currently focussing upon, the photos taken were predominantly black and white, sepia photos are from an earlier period in history and thus it just does not feel right to use something that I know is wrong, unfortunately I am a practical and functional person and designer, so sepia images are a no for me within this piece. Instead I will search for a suitable alternative.
Today I also showed Jay the user location marker and he suggested animating it to make it stand out more, so I have animated it with a flashing bull’s-eye.
