User testing blog

I have just completed my user testing, it has been extremely valuable, please see some testers below:

I set the testers a number of tasks, please see below:

Hull History Viewer User Testing

Open the application, read the welcome page, is it easy to understand?

Press next to move further into the application, can you identify your current location?

Can you zoom in and out of the map?

Can you identify the building locations?

Navigate to at least two building locations then answer the questions below:

Did a 3D available button open near the locations?

Could you see the recreations of the buildings?

Could you find out information about the buildings?

All of the testers completed all of the tasks successfully but when I asked them for additional comments two slight issues arose.

It highlighted the fact that some users struggled to see the location markers against the map, as a result of this I changed the markers by increasing their size and adding a red border to make their appearance stronger, please see below:

I also had a user who pointed out that at the Cecil location there is another building at the same junction with a Cecil sign but it is in a different position to the one featured in the application, this confused the user, so to try and eliminate any future confusion I added to the building information screen that the theatre had been rebuilt on the opposite diagonal corner of the junction.
